Introduction to the Quality Assurance Position & Responsibilities

The Quality Assurance position plays a key role on the Quality Assurance Team. Quality Assurance is the front line to ensuring that all of the steps and procedures in a food processing company are being met to ensure the food is safe for consumption.

This position is ideally suited to a meticulous, methodical person, who enjoys following strict procedures and protocols.

This training will:

  • give you a better understanding of what a Quality Management Program or a Food Safety Program includes
  • help you to feel more comfortable to maintain the Quality Management Program or Food Safety Program
  • help you to be more confident when accepting a quality assurance position
  • give you an understanding of your role on a Quality Assurance team
  • provide an example of a daily routine of a Quality Assurance person
  • a quiz and certificate of successful completion upon passing

You hereby acknowledge, understand and agree that you shall have no more than two (2) weeks from and including the date of your completion of the Registration Process (described herein) to complete the Course and receive a certificate of participation. Should you fail to complete the Course in this time, your Account shall be revoked, any and all registration fees already paid by you shall be forfeited (and such will be non-refundable), and you shall be required to undergo the Registration Process once again (including paying any and all required fees therefor) in order to continue the Course from where you previously stopped, re-start the Course, or access in any manner whatsoever any of the Course content.

This Course is intended to be an overview of the day-to-day processes that a Quality Assurance Manager performs in the position. Company accepts no responsibility for any issues, contamination, or financial loss incurred by any food processing company. This course does not replace the requirement of regularly checking changes and updates to CFIA’s regulations and policies. It is the responsibility of processing facilities to ensure that proper policies respecting CFIA’s requirements are implemented. This course is not intended to replace or modify the legislation, regulation and policies in the industry of food processing. Always refer to the legislation, regulation and policies for reference purposes. It is the responsibility of the food processing facility to ensure that the employees are fully-trained and capable of implementing processes that respect food safety. This Course, upon your satisfactory completion thereof, will lead to a certificate of participation. Your skill, knowledge and experience of proper and safe food processing, handling and practices are not assessed by this program.
